Susie was born to the late Pablo and Gregoria Moya on December 2nd, 1914 in Tularosa, New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Perfedio Chavez, her brothers, Herman Moya, Vidal Moya, and Ray Moya; sisters, Rosa (Moya) Baca and Flora (Moya) Chavez, and her son, Perfedio Jr. Susie is survived by her sister, Margaret (Moya) Chavez, her daughters, Ruth Cabrera, Cecilia Bryant, Jean Alcala, Judy Anderson (Al), and sons, Larry Chavez and David Chavez (Laura); 20 grand-children, 46 great grand-children and 19 great-great grandchildren.
Faith and family were the themes of Susie’s life, and there was nothing she enjoyed more than huge family celebrations. Her home was always warm and welcoming, and she insisted on feeding all who visited. Susie had a way of making everyone feel like family, and everyone who knew her loved her. She will be dearly missed. Friends and family are welcome to attend services as follows:
