

Dr. Thomas Edward Finch of Peoria, Arizona went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 26, 2024 at the age of 76 years old. Tom was born on October 1, 1948 in Warren, Ohio, the son of George Danton Finch, Jr. and Margaret Alice (Parker) Finch.
Tom earned his Doctorate of Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary. During his time in Dallas, Tom met and married Patricia Sue Brunn on August 16,1975. They served the Lord together during their 25-year marriage and raised their three dear sons, Joel Thomas Finch, Jon David Finch and Jeremy Daniel Finch.
After Pat’s death, Tom moved his family to Chicago where he taught theology at Moody Bible Institute. During his time in Chicago, Tom wrote the book, Unmapped Darkness – Finding God’s Path Through Suffering, and taught a related class on the theology of suffering.
Tom found love again while living in Chicago. He and Laura (Hickey) were married and shared a beautiful 17-year marriage. Tom was a devoted, loving and dear husband. They moved to Arizona in 2011 where Tom continued to teach, preach, disciple, write and love his family and friends.
Tom was a man of the Word. He delighted in it every day and sought to know the mind and heart of God. The glory and honor of God were his greatest desires. He was a faithful husband, father, teacher, mentor and pastor.
Tom is survived by his loving wife, Laura, his three sons, daughter-in-law, Holly Finch, and his precious grandsons, Arthur Patrick Finch and Simon David Finch. Tom will be dearly remembered by Laura’s sons, Jim Rago and Peter Rago, and their families. Also surviving are Tom’s dear sister, Judith Ann Young, and brother, Paul David Finch. Tom was preceded in death by his parents and brother, George Danton Finch III.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, 11:00 am at Desert Hills Bible Church (16635 N 51st Ave, Glendale, AZ. 85306). In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Tom's memory to Desert Hills Bible Church (deserthillschurch.com) or Samaritan's Purse (samaritanspurse.org).
