Thomas Castro Ruiz known as, “Tom or Tommy”, born April 21, 1948 left to be with our Lord on June 20, 2020. He is survived by his Wife Louise Angulo Ruiz; Son Thomas Jr.; Daughters Tammy & Cynthia; Daughter-in-law Veronica; Son-in-law Ricky; 8 Grandchildren Vanessa, Tomas Jr., Dominic, Cristian, Conrad Jr., Lea, Angela and Savannah; Sisters Cecilia and Stephanie. He was preceded in death by his Father & Mother Cecilio and Isabel Ruiz and Sisters Pauline “Polly”, Joanna and Martha.
Tommy served in the Vietnam War as a Sergeant in the US Marine Corp. He received the following medals; National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 4 stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Purple Heart, Presidential Unit Citation & Combat Action Ribbon.
He was a hard working man that worked for Valdez Transfer, Inc. for 11 years and the US Post Office for 24 years where he ultimately retired from as a Supervisor. He spent his retirement going to the bar once a month to play arcade pool and drink a few Coors beers with his Best Friend, Tony. He enjoyed sitting outside while listening to Oldies, smoking a cigar and watching his dogs; Kimmy, Tuffy and Nico play. Tom was a man of few words but always let his presence be known. He will be truly missed, but will always be remembered and will remain in our hearts.
