apologies and correction fall of 1988 met at GCC

It has taken some time for me to write and share my memory of Ty--a fine young man who I met with great honor at the library at Glendale Community College back in 1998.  We spent our 21st birthdays together ---Anderson Fifth Estate in Scottsdale, AZ where my friend was a DJ and so enjoyed and celebrated life.   Ty was animated and attention to detail (yes he told me in great detail the contents of his stomach via celebrating). 
His attention to detail and had a memory like an elephant.   He cared deeply about those in his circle of friends and family.
 Life happened and no matter how long of a span we always greeted, celebrated "where we left off" hashing out the world problems amidst laughing the night away.  Being with Ty was always special and real--time flew and never wanted to end.  I had the honored guest and privilege to visit Ty twice in Oceanside CA via his accomplishments and once in Tucson.
Fast forward to 2020---We both spent Christmas day alone----a first for both of us.  It was a nice day in Phoenix  & he in Tucson and I went on a 2 hour walk and we talked during the whole duration.  It was deep and real and will never forget.  It was one of the most heart felt and beautiful conversations we had shared in a long time.
Tears can't bring him back and I finally had the strength to take him off my contact list and focus on the memories and I will know his generosity, strength, laughter will always be with me.
He will always be with me regardless.  I miss you deeply and taken too soon.

I am Greatly saddened to hear of Ty’s passing. I always found him to be a kind, intelligent and personable human being. Whenever we would speak, our conversations would last hours. I last spoke to him 6 days before his passing. It seemed to me that he was positioning himself for bigger and better things. So sad he was taken so soon.  Rest In Peace my friend. 

I am shocked and so sad to hear about Tieman. Ty was one of my best friends. I had the pleasure of being part of his life for 35 years. We have countless memories from all stages of life. He was like a brother to me - so much so that  my children called him Uncle Ty.  He will be deeply missed and my family and I send our condolences. 

I am ever grateful and glad to have met and gotten to know you, Ty. Whether we were shooting the breeze over food—thanks for the discounts!—or on a film set or group meeting, you always brought the joy. You’re gone too soon, man. I’ll carry  your gift of creativity and humor with me forever.

To the Chang family, I hope you all find peace and comfort in each other and friends. Ty is a special person... I say “is” because he’ll be a fond part of life forever. He and I met in a film group where I helped film one of his screenplays, and, later, a “videommercial.” We continued our friendship outside of the group. I enjoyed spending time with him. I offer my condolences to you.

Ty was a kind and bright engineer and friend. I was always impressed by his strong spirit, positive attitude and selfless sharing of his talents and time. We reconnected a few years ago and was excited to see and hear his big smile and jolly laugh. Ty was a genuine great guy! 

Tieman always liked to laugh and get a good deal. He liked using his coupon book and catching a sale or bargain. 
Little brother, you left us too soon. You are in my thoughts and heart even thousands of miles away. Although I can't be at your side in the flesh, know I'll always be by your side in spirit.

Ty "qponking" Chang  was one of the nicest guys around.  I remember whenever we would go to lunch, he would whip out a coupon and save us a few bucks.    He will be dearly missed.  My condolences to Ty's family.  He will be a remembered as a fun, energetic,  loving person who always spoke highly and proudly of his family.
