Todd left us way too early on July 8, 2025 His shining light went out apparently as he slept, without warning. He leaves behind grief-stricken parents, Dr. Ravi and Sherrill Koopot, a younger brother Ryan, (Yaremi) a beloved niece, Taylor, and countless friends and extended family.
Todd graduated from Creighton Elementary School, 1988, and Central High School in 1992. He also attended Yavapai Community College and Phoenix College. Throughout his adult life he worked at several jobs; Phoenix Art Museum, Safeway, Blockbuster Video, Performance Radiator, Sky Harbor Airport, to name just a few. The one constant on all his work was that he was a "people person" and never "met a stranger". He was very friendly and helpful and always tried to put others at ease. When he was in High school, we never knew exactly who would be joining us for dinner, and if a friend needed a place to 'crash', Todd would invite them home.
Todd was born in Phoenix but held strong ties with Chicago where much of his extended family still lives. He was an avid Bears fan and has considerable paraphernalia to prove it; T-shirts, socks, pajamas, mugs, wallets, posters, and on and on! Watching football with his dad was one of his favorite weekend activities. He also loved ASU football and had a little friendly rivalry with his brother who went to U of A.
One of his real passions, however, was Star Wars and all things pertaining to Luke Skywalker and the Skywalker team. His dad took him to see the first Star Wars movie at Cine Capri when he was barely 4 and he was totally "hooked". He saw every episode since then, many TIMES. Every year he and his friends would gather at his house for "May the 4th" celebrations, (May the Force!) and watch all episodes, non-stop, throughout the day and evening. His other passion was "gaming" with his friends, Dungeons and Dragons and Role-playing events. Naturally, he also enjoyed Comicon and the Renaissance Fair. He played the guitar and enjoyed listening to Metallica and such. His gift, however, was a real artistic talent and created and painted scores of miniature dragons with extreme care and precision. He enjoyed the challenge of getting all the details added to his creations without making an error.
No words can tell of the sad loss we feel. It is comforting knowing he is reunited in Glory with the Grandma he loved so much and others who went before.
All we can say now is, "Dearest son. May the Force be with You!'
