Sue and I meet at Deer Valley Transportation in the late 70's.  We stayed friends until her death. Even though she was a year older we were born not too far apart in Arkansas. She is missed very much.

Sue and I corresponded on our genealogy, she was always helpful and kind. Her dad was my grandmother Cynthia's brother. Prayers for the family. 

Sue was a very special and loving person. She always had a smile, was always eager to help others, and never complained about the challenges facing her. She loved her family deeply and it showed in her actions. I have been blessed to have had her in my life for over 25 years.  I miss her terribly. She was the best. 



My grandma, in my eyes, was the definition of a strong independent woman. Since she was a little girl she went through some unfair trials in her life, but her strength had never wavered. Growing up, and until our last night together, she never let me go without knowing I was loved and her very special “Tori girl”. She taught me so much about who I am, where I come from, and just how special life and family truly is. I will miss her every single day, but I am so happy to know that she is reunited with my papa and her family that had passed before. I love you grandma. You will always be my best friend and number 1 supporter 🤍

I have many fond memories of Sue (and her family) being she has known me all but the first five years of my life. Growing up, I had many sleep overs at her house with her son, Adam, playing with our Hot Wheels, riding the go cart, setting off firecrackers, and riding in the Dodge Challenger, Ford Fairmont, and the Toyota Celica with Sue behind the wheel (go Speed Racer). My mother, Daisy Lambert, my aunt, Shirley Reese (RIP), and her were the 3 Musketeers. Sue was like a second mother to me. I am blessed to have had her apart of my life for so long, and I miss her dearly. Rest in Peace, Mrs. Maxwell, your fight is over.

I was sorry to hear the news of Sue’s passing. I had the pleasure of being a part of her life for many years and I will always cherish the memories.  Sue had a tremendous love for her granddaughters, one that would light up the room anytime they were together, and the girls loved her just as deeply. While she maybe gone from this world, her spirit will live on in all those whom she loved and was loved by.  May you Rest In Peace.  

Sue was married to my brother, Monte, and I am so pleased to have known her as part of our family.  She was a strong woman, a good mother and wife.  I enjoyed her company, sharing many laughs and visits.   Our connection since December has been enlightening and interesting, showing her strength and determination as she dealt with serious health challenges.  But her attitude remained upbeat and her sense of humor was always intact.  I will cherish my memories of her.

Sue and I had been friends since the 70's, we meet at DVUSD, driving a school bus. She was a year older then me but I guess we were meant to be friends, since we were only born a few miles apart in Arkansas. Her family moved to IL in the mid 50, so did mine. She graduated from West Rockford High and I graduated from East Rockford High. We were always there for each other. The last few years were very hard for her, she had health issues, battling cancer. Sue was like a family member and I will miss her dearly.
