I knew Vern in high school -- he was the only student there at North Phoenix High School who had a band! And that band played successfully at high school dances and everyone enjoyed his music.
He was lovely man, smart and talented. And he is dearly missed.

I very much miss 'Vern -- a friend since North Phoenix High School days, when I marveled at is expertise conducting the band he put 
together that played at various school functions. He was
a kind and dear man, and although I didn't get to see much of him in
later year, ,I had the pleasure  an occasional lunch with him when I was in Palm Springs. It  was always a delight. He was one special guy -- I feel lucky to have known him. 

Where to start on my memories of such a beautiful soul. When I moved to California in 1997, I was going through very rough times. My marriage was going down the tubes, I was in the midst of a breakdown, and was suicidal. An acquaintance told me about a wonderful counselor that could help me. Rev. Vern Suter. I called him, made an appointment and he helped me back on my journey of living a happier life. No more suicidal thoughts. No more hurt, anger or fear. Vern and another man he knew, Donald Lunde, M.D. helped me regain my confidence and self esteem. They saved my life. Over the years I've had to go back to Vern for help on occasion and he was always there for me. I knew he cared deeply, because that was Vern. He always went all in. I was going to call him today, as we had not been in touch for some time. However, when I looked him up online, I found his obituary instead. I'm totally devastated and sad by the loss of this wonderful human being that dedicated his life to helping people. I will never forget you, Vern, or the many ways and times you helped me. I've known Vern since high school days together at North Phoenix High School. He had a little band that played at high school dances. He played the piano and cut a dashing figure on the podium back then and always. His energy and positivity will be greatly missed.
