

Viola Ohaco Anderson passed to eternal life on June 26, 2015 surrounded by her family. An Arizona native, born in Flagstaff Arizona to Basque immigrant parents, Michel and Luisa Ohaco. She spent her childhood in Wickenberg and Northern Arizona on her father's ranch. She was a Kappa Alpha Theta and a star athlete at the University of Arizona and graduated in 1946 with a degree in Education. In 1947 she married her high school sweetheart, Jack M. Anderson. Together they had five children.
Vi was a beloved teacher in the Washington School District for 30 years and was committed to the service of those children. She dedicated her life to making a difference in their lives and those of her own children and grandchildren. She was very refined yet steadfastly independent, kind, loving and understanding. Vi was an overall amazing Godly woman whom will be forever missed by all who were fortunate enough to know and be loved by her. She is survived by a very devout and loyal family. Her son Lawrence and his wife Aimee, grandson Zachary and granddaughter Allee; her son Christopher and his wife Epiphania, grandson Benjamin, granddaughter Carrie and Great Grandson Kaden; Son John, grandson Zachary and granddaughter Jackson; Daughter Theresa and her husband Kenneth, grandsons A.J. and Nicholas and Daughter Patricia and her Husband Philip, grandson Philip Jr., granddaughters Tiffany, Kate and Kellie; her two sister in laws Sandy and John Dana and Martha Jo and Ralph Hunsaker.
The memorial service to celebrate her life will be on September 4th, 2015 at 5 p.m. at Brophy Chapel, 4701 N. Central Avenue Phoenix, AZ 85012.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation in her honor would be appreciated and can be made to St. Vincent de Paul and the student scholarship funds at Brophy College Preparatory and Xavier College Preparatory (Beth Hayes Scholarship).
