Born in Little Rock, Arkansas, Virgil later made his home in Anaheim, California, where he built a life defined by hard work, quiet strength, and devotion. There, he met his wife Alice, and together, they shared more than 30 years of marriage and built a home.
Virgil and Alice raised two daughters, Maria and Amanda, who were the center of his world. Following the heartbreaking loss of his daughter, Amanda, Virgil moved to Arizona with his daughter, Maria, her husband, and granddaughter. Surrounded by family and filled with love, he spent his remaining years in their care, enjoying the occasional biscuits and gravy, ice cream, and the Arizona sun.
For more than 40 years, Virgil worked as a welder for Gannon/Woods. He was a quiet, hardworking man who believed in providing for his family and helping others whenever he could. In retirement, he found joy in woodworking, creating handcrafted pieces for family and friends – gifts that will become treasured memories. He brought to life memories of the past. Creating mini crafted houses that bring joy to those who see or receive them.
Virgil’s great joy was his family. He is lovingly survived by his daughter, Maria; his cherished grandchildren, Alyssa, Landon, and Alice Virginia “Coco”; his sister Pat Summers; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Alice G. Conatser; his daughter, Amanda Pacheco; and his brother Sam Conatser.
Though a man of few words, Virgil expressed his love through his actions, his big smile, and decades of hard work and sacrifice. His legacy of humility and unconditional love will continue in all who knew and loved him.
Forever loved, deeply missed, and always remembered.
