Mull, Vylo (Vicki) Marie, of Surprise, Arizona, passed away peacefully April 15, 2014, of natural causes at the age of 94. She was born in Beresford, South Dakota, one of seven siblings. Vicki married Donald Fichter in 1940, and after World War II the family moved from South Dakota to Oregon. Vicki and Don divorced in 1964. Vicki pursued her interest in the business world by opening beauty salons in Portland and Salem, Oregon, the latter being the largest and most fashionable salon in the city. Vicki married John C. Mull in 1966, and in 1968 the couple moved to Phoenix Arizona. Vicki was employed at Main Chance Salon and Spa for a time before becoming licensed as a real estate broker. She worked briefly for the Del Webb company but soon opened her first real estate office in Sun City which she expanded to become the largest residential resale brokerage company in Sun City, operating under the name Mull Realty. John, an attorney, opened up the first trust department for Valley National Bank in Sun City but eventually opened his own tax, estate planning and probate law firm, and was also instrumental in the success of Mull Realty. For a period of time Vicki and John resided in Litchfield Park where Vicki became an outstanding tennis player and member of the Wigwam Country Club. Vicki and John later joined the Lakes Country Club where they wowed other member-spectators with their outstanding moves on the dance floor. Vicki also authored a biography of her Mother, Marie Emery, who predeceased her in 1976, and who emigrated to the United States from Denmark at the age of 18 without benefit of speaking the English language. The book, Ride, Ride, Ranke, was published in 2007 and is available for purchase on amazon.com. Vicki was a very accomplished woman with exceptional confidence, entrepreneurial energy and passionate love for her family. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her in return.
