Walter Leon Hassell

Walter Leon Hassell, Sr. of Ahwatukee, Arizona passed away on May 24, 2017 with his devoted wife Patricia at his side. Visitation will be between the hours of 4:00pm and 8:00pm, Friday, June 2, 2017 at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary, 719 N. 27th Ave., Phoenix, AZ. 85009. Funeral Services will be held 10:00am, Saturday, June 3, 2017 at First Institutional Baptist Church (FIBC) 1141 E. Jefferson St., Phoenix, AZ. 85034 with viewing prior to the funeral service from 9:00am- 10:00am. Walter and Patricia Everson met and were joined in holy matrimony on June 10, 1978. Along with his wife Patricia, Walter is survived by two children; daughter Angela Rena (Dr. George B. Brooks, Jr.) and son Walter Leon Hassell, II; surviving siblings: brother, Jessie Hassell and sister, Jessie Mae Reece (Clyde Reece); Additionally, Walter also known as Walt , leaves four sister – in –laws; Mary Harvey (Michael), Ruby Hinkson (Al), Mary Hassell and Ruby Hassell. Walter leaves behind one aunt Fannie Frost, four granddaughters: Andrea and Amanda Miller, Haley (Dimitri Hurt) and Hasina Brooks. two great-grandsons Marcus Reyes (Amanda ) and Jaden (Haley). He leaves a nephew who is like a son, Quinton Reece and his daughter Amya Reece as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
