Wan Shiu Lee (Anna), a retired restaurateur, entered peacefully into eternal rest on May 4, 2021 at the age of 91. She was born in Guongdong, China on December 14, 1929 and emigrated to the United States in 1954. She is survived by her sons, Harlan (Karleen) and Douglas (Susan); grandchildren, Nathan (Ashley), Matthew (Collette), Kristen (Ryan), Lauren (Mark), and Erin (Nick). She is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren.
Numerous close nieces and nephews, whom she loved, also survive.
She was predeceased by her husband, Kai, 4 children, and one grandchild.
Anna, her husband Kai, and their children owned and operated Sing High Chop Suey House in Phoenix as a business that spanned 90 years and 3 generations. Anna and Harlan continued operating the business after Kai passed away in 1991 (son Douglas went on to become a physician in the late 70s). The restaurant closed permanently in September of 2018.
We will miss Anna, her beautiful smile, calm demeanor, her wonderful gift of cooking, and many other talents but we are rejoicing that she is in the presence of her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and her beloved Kai and children!
Because of continued Covid-19 restrictions, services will be private. Aftercare services entrusted to Greenwood Memory Lawn and Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to First Chinese Baptist Church or Northwest Chinese Baptist Church.
