Wanda Tang passed away peacefully on June 6, 2018. She was born on October 26, 1930 to Tom Bon Yee and Tuey Fong Ong in Toisan, China. In 1951, Wanda immigrated to the U.S. with her mother and brothers, Willie and Carl. The family joined Tom who had settled in Phoenix. In July 1954 Wanda married her husband, Edmund, moving to Peoria where they operated Sun Maid Grocery until retiring in 1998.
For many years, Wanda enjoyed gardening, spoiling her family with large crops of Chinese long beans and greens. She cooked many delicious meals and sweet treats for her family. She also loved walking around her neighborhood, just enjoying the fresh air. But her greatest joy was her family, extended family, and friends.
Wanda is predeceased by her husband as well as her brother, Carl. She is survived by children, Susan Lee (Bob), Sharon Tang, Bruce Tang, Sandra Pell (Mike), and Roland Tang (Crystal); grandchildren Michael Lee, Tara Holroyd (Duncan), Samantha Pell, Noah Pell, Lily Pell, and Ethan Tang; and great-granddaughter Rylee Holroyd. Wanda is also survived by her brother Willie Yee (Jean), step-brothers Greg Yee (Star) and Steven Yee (Janet), half-brother Kenneth Yee, and many nieces and nephews.
We will celebrate her life in Serenity Chapel at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery, 2300 W Van Buren St, Phoenix, AZ 85009. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am, followed by services at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 16, 2018. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in her honor to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St, Phoenix, AZ 85014 or visit www.hov.org.
