Dad,
I miss you so much! It is hard to believe you're gone-I keep thinking I can still drive by your place and we'll go out to eat and visit for awhile. My only comfort is that I will see you again.
Thank you for your unconditional love- Susan and I were so blessed. You've given us so many special memories and so much love and you've always made me feel so special. I love you Dad.
Until we meet again,
Heidi

Vern: I met Vern in 1976 at the German American Club where I worked as a server & he was a member. We were friends for about 5 yrs. during which time I met you Heidi, Susan & Eddie, at Shirley's house when she was still married to Ed. You girls were at my house several times although I dought that you Susan would remember that, but Heidi you may remember meeting my children Joey, and Renee'. Renee' had very long hair and one time she had a pony tail & you wanted one too, So as I was brushing your hair your hearing aid kept beeping, I finally asked you if that was me making it happen , you very sweetly said yes. What I remember about you Susan was you were a very active little girl, here, there, everywhere and so cute ! Both of you girls were and I'm sure you still are! Your Dad took me to Manny's & Kathy's house one time & they all got a kick out of how impressed I was with the bathroom fixtures! I had only seen the regular stuff. Your Uncle Manny gave me $100 one time for Christmas(that was Alot of money back then,my house payment was only$250.)I tried to give it back to Kathy but she said no, if Manny gave it to you he wants you to have it! I have a picture of the 3 of you together I think was taken when you went to Germany, it's very sweet. I know that you know your Dad was a very kind & generous person. One time when my nephew in Tucson was very sick & my car wasn't really too hot(used ALOT of oil) he offered to let me borrow the Big Yellow Cadillac, so I could go be with my sister. That was after we had gone out for the first time & I wanted so badly to impress him, he bought me several drinks, I got pretty drunk then puked all over the Big Yellow Cadillac Door. I'd say that was impressive!! Huh! He took me shopping at Goldwaters for my birthday( I had never even been in that store,K Mart was my store back then!He bought me a beautiful emerald green velvet 3 piece pant suit. Another time he gave me a lovely set of a gold Cross pen & pencil set. I still have the pant suit(never mind it doesn't fit any more)& the pin set.I don't know if your Dad ever spoke of me or not, probably not, so this is coming out of the woodwork so to say!LOL We never had an argument or any reason to stop seeing each other, it just seemed to fizzle out, so the memory has always been sweet! He was the Love of my life, every time in those years we dated when I would see him my heart would skip, & my knees would go week!! Last I talked to your Dad was when I had heard he had hurt his foot, we had a very nice visit & caught up some. A couple of years ago I talked to Manny's daughter just to see how he was.I would very much like to come on Mon. if that would be ok with you kids. If not just let me know I will understand.I'm a caregiver for an elderly woman, & I work on Sun.& Mon. she needs to have lunch at a certain time so it would be about 1 or a little after. I will think of your Dad & miss him always. Jeannie Rodreick

He was always so pleasant and fun anytime I would see him...there will be a void at all the family gatherings...but he is finally at peace.
