Willard Elmer Lineburg

Willard Elmer Lineburg, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at his residence in Phoenix, Arizona. He was born on January 2, 1933, to the late Richard and Lillian (Ambrose) Lineburg in Strasburg, Virginia. Willard attended Strasburg High School, graduating class of 1953; then furthered his education at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University after serving in the United States Air Force. He spent his entire career in the airline industry, doing what he loved, working on airplanes, ultimately retiring at age 71 from United Parcel Service after 15 years of service. Willard was a Charles Taylor Service Award recipient for having over 50 years of service as a Master Airline Mechanic. He had also been a member of the Mechanic Teamster Union. Willard enjoyed singing karaoke, playing guitar, driving his Subaru, and had an immense love for all things related to the family farm. He is survived by his three loving children, Don (Cindy) Lineburg, Doreen (Chris) Hantzschel, and Denise (Louis) Servedio-Morales; four beloved step-children, Sue (Steve) Hoffman, Pam (John) Harkins, Greg (Stephanie) Colon, and Bruce (Angie) Colon; two siblings, Dorothy Hockman, and Betty (Alan) Baker; eight grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; and many other loving family and friends, all of whom he loved very much. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Catherine; his sister, Thelma; his brother, Donald; and his two beloved dogs, Angel and Molly. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at Stover Funeral Home on Saturday, March 16, 2019, in Strasburg, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Willard’s honor may be made to the charity of your choice.
