He liked to be called Bill. He and his wife, Kathy, met at a USO dance in 1954, while he was serving as a Marine, following active duty in the Korean war. As excellent dance partners, they jitterbugged up the aisle, marrying just 3 months later and celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary October 9, 2025 - a testament to their commitment and love for each other.
After 20 years as Service Manager for Frank Shirey Cadillac, the family left the Chicago area and relocated to Phoenix in 1979. From that time forward, Bill and Kathy proudly owned and operated Kwik Kopy Printing, serving the Phoenix metropolitan area until 2005. Bill was good with his hands and could fix just about anything. If something broke, he would figure out a way to repair it - always ready with a solution and the right tool.
While Bill had many interests and hobbies that he excelled at, his passion for music led him to become the lead tenor in his barbershop quartet, winning multiple competitions. For more than 20 years, Bill and fellow singers volunteered their time, using their voices to bring happiness and joy to events and group facilities, always focused on lifting others. Bill believed music was meant to be shared. He didn’t save his voice for the stage, he could often be heard bursting into song in the most unexpected places, turning ordinary moments into memories and making everyone around him smile, often with “Oh Lord, It’s Hard to be Humble.”
