William Lohmeyer was known to me as Uncle Bill. As an AF brat, we never lived near our family but we always visited for the holidays (either Thanksgiving or Christmas). He and my Aunt Judi always had the festivities at their home, and the food was always plentiful and delicious. As I grew up and became an adult, Uncle Bill always stayed in touch with me. He would send a birthday card every year without fail. They were always hilarious; his sense of humor was large and an endearing trait. My Uncle was also great at staying in touch via email, sending inquiries to check on me or my mother. He was an amazing man, husband, father, uncle, and friend to many. He will be missed dearly on this earth, but I know he is with our other family members in Heaven and I look forward to our reunion.

I have known Bill since I was a teenager living in Highland and Hammond, Indiana. A nicer person you could not find. He was like my big brother. I babysat for Teresa when they both had to work nights. I married and Bill and Judy moved to Phoenix. I will never forget when Dave went to Thailand, and I called Bill over to mow some weeds on the side of the house. He said, "These can't be mowed, this is a jungle." He found a way and from then on he came by each week so I never had a jungle again. I loved him then, I love him now, and will love him forever. My heart goes out to Barbara, Teresa, Chris and all the grandchildren. Grief is a hard thing to work through, but as long as you are there for each other it can be done. God bless you all.
