William Richard Roepke

William “Bill” Richard Roepke, 88, peacefully passed away on March 12th, 2020. Bill was born August 30th, 1931 in Indianapolis, Indiana. The son of Harvey and Leona Roepke, he was one of four brothers; Don, Bob, and Ken. Bill attended Arsenal Technical High School, where he excelled in Track and Basketball, leading him to receive an athletic scholarship continuing his basketball career at Butler University in Indiana. While attending Butler, he became a member of the prestigious Sigma Chi Fraternity. Following graduation, Bill served in the U.S. Army, fighting for our country in the Korean War. In 1954, he married Nell Klassen and made the move to Arizona. Once in Arizona, Bill began a long successful career in banking while touching the lives of those around him in the local community. Together, Bill and Nell had 3 beautiful daughters, Joy King, Paige Julius, and Leigh Roepke. He later married Joanne Ness, who proceeded him in death in 2019. Bill is survived by his daughters Paige (John) Julius, and Leigh Roepke. His Grandchildren Chad Miller, Brett Miller, Brian King, Lauren Burr, his Great-Grandson Gage Miller, Great-Grand Daughter due in July, and Nieces Linda and Mary Roepke. Bill was a man of humor with a deep love for his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all.
