 When I first moved to Arizona in 2009  I didn’t know anyone. I joined the freshman football team hoping to make new friends but I didn’t really fit in with the other players or students in class because of how shy and quiet I was. That was when Zach came up to me after practice one day out of the blue and introduced himself to me and really made me feel welcomed.  I’ll never forget that moment. To this day I still think about him and how loving and caring he was to others even if he didn’t know them yet. He always had a smile on his face and never said a bad thing about anyone. He really taught me a lot and I’m proud to say that he taught me lessons that I still live by today. I feel lucky to have had the chance to meet him and become friends with him throughout high school. 

I love you and miss you Zach and I know you’re watching down over us all from heaven. Rest In Peace, Zach! I’ll never forget you and all the positivity you spread

Ryan, Kindra, Camden and Macyn - We were so shocked to hear of Zach's passing. I know your faith in God is strong but the grief and loss must seem too much to bear - please know that those that know you and your family share in your grief and are sending you love and strength. Though it has been a while since we have been together we remember you often and have enjoyed the holiday updates from you. I have wonderful memories of Zach's sweet smile, kind heart, guitar playing and skateboarding. I know that the love you have for each other will provide comfort at the most difficult time imaginable.

Its not the way life is suppose to go. We don't bury our children. I woke up to police surrounding our main road that morning. When I found out it was one of the neighbor kids , then realized my sons and zach hung out a few summers ago, broke my heart.  My heart goes out to you. My heart hurts..the pain is unbearable. I am struggling to find peace and reason.. Each day I pray that my tears of sorrow will turn into tears of joyful memories.

I was shocked to hear the news about Zach.  I remember him being in my classroom at Basha Elementary.  He always had a smile and such a positive attitude.  I really enjoyed having him in my class.   My prayers are with you during this difficult time.

So difficult to know what to say in a time of such grief.  And it's all the more difficult when I consider the wonderful nature of Ryan and his family.  I'm so sorry  to hear of yet another  loss in your family.  I can only imagine the pain you must feel after enduring the loss of your father and sister at such young ages, but to then also be called to face the loss of a child?!  May our God in heaven place uncommon strength and faith in your heart and sole to be able to endure, and to be able to continue to fight the good fight.
