Archie Lynn Murray

Mr. Murray was born in Hico, TX, a son of the late J. E. and Edith Grace Rich Murray. He was retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years service where he served as a surgical first assistant. Mr. Murray was an accomplished woodworker and cabinet maker and was an avid outdoorsman where he loved to fish and hunt. Mr. Murray was a Mason and a member of his lodge in Savannah, GA.

After retirement from the Air Force, Mr. Murray was involved in big truck sales in Greenville and studied at Tri-County Technical College where he earned degrees in criminal justice and business. He loved and enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Joyce Murray of the home, sons, David Lynn Murray (Susan) of Plano, TX, Michael Kenneth Murray (Elaine) of Pickens and Patrick Wayne Murray (Ty) of Pickens. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lugene Johnson.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Dillard Funeral Home from 3:30 to 4:30 PM. A memorial service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 4:30 PM.
