Born on July 3, 1938, in Takoma Park, Maryland, Archie was the son of the late Archie Shirley Sr. and Mary Shirley.
A proud member of the National Rifle Association, Archie enjoyed spending his time hunting and fishing—pastimes he cherished throughout his life.
He is survived by his sons, Ron Shirley (Cynthia) and Kenneth Shirley; his daughter, Pamila Hernandez (Robert); six grandchildren: Joshua, Dustin, Matthew, Jordan, Corey, and Makynsi; and great-grandchildren Charlotte Shirley, Samantha Shirley, and Cody shirley. He is also survived by his sister, Margie Depoy (Cliff).
In addition to his parents, Archie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Dalton Shirley; his son, Martin Shirley; his siblings, Paul Shirley, Linda Cline, and Betty Shirley; and his daughter-in-law, Sonya Shirley.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, beginning at 1:00 PM at Dillard Funeral Home, 2402 Gentry Memorial Highway. A chapel service will follow at 2:00 PM, with interment to take place at Hillcrest Memorial Park immediately afterward.
