Betty Carolyn Kelley

Born in Transylvania County, North Carolina, Carolyn was the daughter of the late Lewis and Inez Moore.

She was a devoted member of Liberty Church of God of Prophecy and cared for her home and family who was her pride and joy. Carolyn loved spending time tending to her flowers, shopping with her grandchildren, attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, and going on Sunday car rides with her family and beloved dog Beethoven.

Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Lisa Rood (Randy); daughter, Tina Mudge (Kenneth); son, Frankie Kelley (Cyndi); son, Lonnie Kelley; grandchildren: Jessica Santillo, Breanna Santillo (Brandon Moore), Justin Kelley, Joshua Kelley, Hannah Kelley, Michelle Dunson (Robert), Nikki Jourden (Daniel); great grandchildren: Maddox Smith, Emberly Rood, and Enzo Jourden; seven foster great grandchildren; sister, Doris Galloway; and brother, Mike Moore (Betty).She also leaves numerous nieces and nephews to cherish her memory.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 50 years Luther Kelley; two sisters, Kathy Jones and Linda Barton; brother, Benny Moore.

A visitation will be held at Dillard Funeral Home, 2402 Gentry Memorial Highway, Pickens, South Carolina, on Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 2:45 pm. A funeral service will begin in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home at 3:00 PM with a committal service to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
