Liberty, SC - Mrs. Betty Jean Nix Stansell, 87, loving wife of 52 years to the late Sam Stansell, of Liberty, passed away Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Capstone Health and Rehabilitation Center in Easley.
Betty Jean was born in Pickens County on March 14, 1934 to the late Ernest and Ophelia Hendricks Nix. She retired from Ser-Shirt Maker in Pickens and in her free time enjoyed the outdoors. She was an avid gardener, especially for her flowers. Betty Jean was a member of Pickens View Wesleyan Church. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Betty Jean is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to her loving husband and her parents, Betty Jean was preceded in death by eight siblings.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends following the services at the cemetery.
The family is at their respective homes.
