Brandon Conleay, 26 years of age - known for his kind, loving, caring and humorous personality passed away in his home in Hinesville, Georgia on April 28, 2025. Born on October 29, 1998 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Brandon lived a life with passion and service towards others.
Brandon was survived by a family so proud. His mother Hope Towsey and step-father Ladd Keller. His younger sister Christine Swanger, older sister Britanie Keller-Barber, Sister-in-law Chelsea Barber, and nephews William Crumbaker and Spencer Barber.
Brandon was a comedian who had no boundaries between his “stage show” and regular life. He kept people rolling in laughter because he could find humor in the most mundane life circumstances. If you have ever fallen victim to a case of the tummy spasms that came from the goofiness of Brandon, you understand.
Brandon graduated from Pickens High School class of 2019. He was a student of JROTC for all of his high school years. He enlisted in the army prior to graduation. He elected to join as a Cavalry Scout. He began as a Private, promoted to Private first Class, Corporal, Sergeant and lastly to Staff Sergeant. He graduated from boot camp in Fort Benning, Georgia. His first station was in Fort Lewis, Washington, next to Fort Bliss, El Paso, Texas, and lastly to Fort Stewart, Hinesville, Georgia. Brandon encountered two deployments; first to South Korea and then to Lithuania. He was and is a proud member of the United States Army and his family shared that proudness.
Brandon enjoyed hunting, fishing, guns, music, video games, friends, divulging in the building of his gaming computer which was the one thing he spoiled himself with, and the simple things that life had to offer. Brandon was not a selfish person. He was a selfless person. Brandon gifted love, laughter, a helping hand, and his time to any and everyone he came into contact with. Ladd, his step father would say that the trait that stood out to him the most about Brandon was his eagerness to please other people. He once took his older sister out for a movie night at the theater. Between their home and the movie theater Brandon was determined to open every single door even if it meant busting his butt to get to the door first. He was a gentleman. There’s no doubt about that. He even spent his time waiting for a seat after church at Jimmy’s Family Restaurant, opening the door for every single person that entered. It didn’t matter if you were a friend, family, a stranger, Brandon was a gentleman to the core and it never wavered.
Brandon’s memory will be carried on through all of those that knew him. Those who had the chance to know Brandon, to love him, were so incredibly lucky.
“Don’t think of him as gone away, his journeys just begun, life holds so many facets this earth is only one.
Just think of him as resting from the sorrow and the tears, in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days and years.
Think how he must be wishing that we could know today how nothing but our sadness can really pass away.
Think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched.. For nothing loved is ever lost and he is loved so much.”
A Memorial will be held to honor Brandon at Dillard’s Funeral Home - 2402 Gentry Memorial Highway, Pickens, SC 29671 - Saturday, May 17, 2025. Receiving of family and friends will be held from 1pm-3pm and will transition to his service will begin at 3pm.
