Carlee D Chastain

Easley, SC - Mr. Carlee D. Chastain, 90, loving husband of 72 years to Mae Browning Chastain, of Easley, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at his residence. Mr. Chastain was born in Pickens County on June 22, 1932 to the late Abner Oscar and Bertha Masters Chastain. He loved to garden, fish, and anything in the outdoors. Above all that, Mr. Chastain loved his family, and was known to say "Love IS Family". He retired as a truck driver for Bountyland Petroleum before then going on to work with his son at Chastain Builders, and was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Mr. Chastain was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church in Easley. In addition to his loving wife of 72 years, Mr. Chastain is survived by his three Daughters: Linda Wade of Easley, Patricia LaChance (Jeffrey) of Orlando, Florida, and Julie Hess of Easley; and a son: Mark Chastain (Nikki) of Piedmont. He also had 14 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. In addition to his parents, Mr. Chastain was preceded in death by seven brothers and two sisters and one daughter, Diane Ramey. Funeral Services will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Saturday, January 21, 2023 in the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home with interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Pickens. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 2:45 PM on Saturday, prior to the service, at Dillard Funeral Home. The family is at the residence. Flowers are accepted.
