Carolyn T. Welborn

Carolyn T. Welborn, age 69, of Pickens, South Carolina, wife of the late Harold Benny Welborn, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021. Carolyn was born December 11, 1951, in Washington, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late J.B. and Myrtle Dessie Gibson Turner.

Carolyn enjoyed being outdoors. She loved fishing with her family, shooting pool, and gardening. For many years, she and her family would enjoy camping in the mountains and watersports on the lake. She was great with cooking and was the only one in her family who could make her mother's biscuits. Carolyn had a fun, tough-loving personality, and could gamble with the best in her family. She will be loved and greatly missed.

Surviving are her two sons, Brian Welborn (Ashley) and Brad Welborn; her special companion, Larry Chandler; three siblings, Janice Gossett (Bill), Lilly Campbell, and Ginger Roberts (Tony); two grandchildren, Courtney Mironchik-Welborn and Jacob Welborn; three great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Mironchik, Brennan Mironchik and Harper Gilstrap.

Carolyn was also preceded in death by three siblings, Dorothy Leslie, Tommy Turner, and George Turner.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 2, 2021 from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Dillard Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 3, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.
