Easley, SC - Mr. Charles Melvin Smith, 68, loving husband of Mrs. Pansy Janette Cantrell Smith, of Easley, passed away Friday, April 2, 2021 at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Smith was born in Greenville County on November 7, 1952 to the late Ellis Melvin and Lillian Estelle Jones Smith. He was a true family man with a great personality and was an avid donor to the British Air Museum. He was a 1971 graduate of Liberty High School, an automobile mechanic graduate of Tri-County Technical College, an aviation mechanic graduate of Greenville Technical College, and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Liberty.

In addition to his loving wife of 31 years, Mr. Smith is survived by two sisters: Hazel Bowen (Charles) and Evelyn Smith, both of Liberty; two special nieces: Heather Massingale (Brian Standard) of Liberty and Jennifer Wojtalik (Zach) of Hanahan, SC; a great niece: Reece Wojtalik; and two great nephews: Garrett Massingale and Wyatt Wojtalik. Mr. Smith is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 in the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home with the Rev. Carlton Cleveland officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home from 12:00 PM until 12:45 PM on Wednesday, prior to the service.
