Chris was born in Easley, South Carolina, on January 24, 1973, to the late Tommy McFall Baker and Brenda Couch Baker. He was a dedicated volunteer at Hagood Mill in Pickens, South Carolina. Chris enjoyed learning about Native American History, being outside on hikes, chasing waterfalls, cooking for his family and friends, and enjoyed listening to Bluegrass music. Chris will be missed by all those who knew him.
In addition to his mother Brenda, Chris is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Kristi; his son Tyler; two brothers: Jason Baker (Willie Topper), Jeffrey Baker (Henri Adair); three nieces: CJ Baker, Hattie Baker, and AnnaBeth Baker; his mother-in-law: Gail Bryant Ponder; his father-in-law: Tom Ponder (Louise); his grandmother-in-law: Nathalee Bryant "Ninny"; brother-in-law: Josh Ponder (Kelley) and numerous cousins.
In addition to his father, Tommy, Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents, and numerous beloved aunts and uncles.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, September 21, 2026, at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Pickens
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 PM on Sunday, September 20, 2026, in the Garden Room of Dillard Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hagood Mill Foundation.
Dillard Funeral Home is assisting the Baker family with their arrangements.
