Ellen Gilbert, 84, of Liberty the wife of the late Aldon L. “Bud” Gilbert passed from this life on Tuesday February 28, 2017 peacefully at her home. Mrs. Gilbert is the daughter of the late Fred Oglesby and Bonnie Oglesby and was born in Pickens County. Mrs. Gilbert retired from Saco Lowell as a secretary and was a member of Easley Church of God. Survivors include four sons; Aldon L. Gilbert Jr. (Marie) of Liberty, Fred Gilbert (Dawn) of Easley, Eddie Gilbert of Liberty, Ernest Gilbert (Shirley) of Easley, one daughter; Tina Payton (Mike) of Liberty, two sisters; Joanne Pike (Bruce) of Simpsonville, Louise Lyda of Easley, one brother; Fred Oglesby of Easley and two sisters in laws; Alma Fortner of Anderson and Edith Durham (Wayne) of Easley. Mrs. Gilbert leaves twenty three grandchildren and 51 great grandchildren to share in her memory. Mrs. Gilbert is predeceased by three sisters; Jessie Mae Posey, Emma Bridges, and Lenora Oglesby. A visitation will be held at Dillard Funeral Home Friday March 3,2017 10am until 11am, services will follow in the chapel at 11am. Memorial may be made the Shriners Hospital for Children P.O.
