Born on August 6, 1962, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Mitchell Morton and Velma Lee Martin Morton.
She was a current member of Galilee Baptist Church and previously a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church, where she cherished attending many events and spending time with her church family. She found joy in the simple things in life like sewing, doing puzzles, listening to gospel music, and watching her favorite British mystery shows.
Eugenia had a special appreciation for sightseeing, fishing, and traveling, always enjoying the opportunity to experience new places. She loved her jewelry and took pride in the houseplants and flowers that she grew. If you knew Eugenia, you knew that her life was deeply rooted in her faith. She was loving, and patient (when she wanted to be), and you could always count on her to be there whenever someone needed help.
Eugenia adored her family. Her greatest joy was the love she shared with them and the precious memories they created together. Those memories will forever remain a treasured part of her family’s hearts and a beautiful reflection of the life she lived.
Eugenia is survived by her beloved husband of 27 years, Billy Joe "BJ" Rector; daughter, Tina Alexander (Billy); Elzora "Zoey" Frazier (Daniel); grandchildren: Marcus Alexander and Connor Alexander; brother, Glen Morton (Sharon); Brother-in-law, Jimmy Rector; sister-at-heart, Maxine Stegall; fur babies Gracie and Sugar.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Interim Hospice family, especially Jessica and Jackie, for their unwavering love and support.
