Florence was a dedicated Christian, wife, and mother. She was a charter member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church where she and her beloved husband, Jack Townsend, taught Sunday School. Her employment was full-time mom to her four children, always taking great care of the household, chauffeuring her children to school and activities, making clothes for her three girls, always having something good to eat, and being a support to Jack. She loved watching her Atlanta Braves play and was fun to watch with.
Florence is predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Jack Townsend; her daughter, Jackie Townsend Day; her parents, Palley McWhorter and John Franklin Nalley, and a brother, Stanley Nalley.
Left to grieve her passing are her children, Stan Townsend (Dianne) of Charleston; daughters Kathy Alwahab (Allen) of Nashville and Suzanne Lee (David) of Easley; son-in-law, Radford Day, of Easley; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
