Gladys was born in Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico, on May 22, 1935 to the late Carlos J. Zambrana and Felicita Roche-Zambrana. She loved nothing more than cooking a Puerto Rican feast for her friends and family while being surrounded by those she loved. Gladys loved to travel with her husband, Jerry, whether it be in the mountains, on the boat named after her, or with the motorcycle. She enjoyed a few years of working at her antique mall. Gladys was a homemaker whose number one goal was always to care for those around her. She was both feisty and loving, and always offering to make more food. More than anything, she loved her family. Gladys was called home five weeks after her treasured Jerry passed.
Gladys is survived by her daughter: Yvette McKenzie; son: Vaden Newman; granddaughters: Whitney More and Taylor More James; and siblings: Nereida Zambrana-Oswald, Osvaldo Zambrana, and Rolando Zambrana.
In addition to her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by her beloved husband: Jerry Newman; granddaughter: Sydney More; and siblings: Jorge, Isolina, Cesar, German, Carlos, and Danny.
