Glenon was born on August 31, 1930 to the late Jesse James and Dorothy Miller Simpson. He served for 20 years in the Navy, Air Force, and the Army. Mr. Simpson was a kind man with a gentle, giving spirit and could always find the good in people. He loved his family and spending time with them, especially his great-granddaughters. Mr. Simpson enjoyed playing golf and also gardening. He was a faithful member of Tabor United Methodist Church.
Mr. Simpson is survived by one daughter: Robin Rena Simpson (John) of Pickens; one grandson: Jeremy Gravely (Stacey) of Pickens; two great-granddaughters: Allie Gravely and Katie Gravely both of Pickens; and one brother: Billy Joe Simpson of Pickens.
In addition to his parents, Glenon is preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years Ruby Lois Simpson; one daughter: Ginger Lee Simpson; two brothers: Jesse and Charles; four sisters: Ann, Martha, Earline, and Betty Joe.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, March 14, 2022 at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Dillard Funeral Home.
