Poppy was born on July 31, 1931, to the late Frank and Anne Mathews. He proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Poppy enjoyed giving things away, fishing, woodworking, building and teaching others about computers. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends. He was truly an inventor of a lot of things. He will be greatly missed.
Poppy is survived by one daughter: Pam Meyer (Paul); four grandchildren: Haley Hagerman (Todd), Lacey Butler (Jermaine), Mathew Meyer, and Leslie McKee; five great grandchildren and one on the way: Aubrey, Zayden, Scarlett, Trace, and Jayson; and many special friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Mathews was preceded in death by his beloved wife Betty Mathews and daughter Norma Denise Workman.
Funeral services will be conducted at a later date.
