Isabell was born on August 12, 1933, in Pickens, South Carolina, to the late Andy and Missouri Posey Chastain. She was a founding member of Lakeview Baptist Church, were she loved to serve and worship.Isabell loved to be outside camping and fishing. What she enjoyed the most, was the time with her family.
Isabell is survived by her daughter: Vickie Griffin (George); three grandchildren: Joy Griffin, Julie Hammond (Andrew), and Tabitha Stewart (Brian); three great grandchildren: Griffin Hammond, Dusty Stewart, and Tanner Stewart (Leanna); and two great-great grandchildren: Mazy and Willow Stewart.
In addition to her parents, Isabell was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Melvin Haskell Duncan; and four siblings, Ella Mae Alexander, Irene Trotter, Gertrude Thompson, and Adeline Holden.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, on Tuesday August 11, 2026, at Lakeview Baptist Church located at 107 Mauldin Lake Rd, Pickens, SC 29671.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:45 to 2:45 PM.
Burial will follow the service at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Pickens South Carolina.
