Pickens, SC – Mr. Jackie Aaron Simpson, age 85, went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 9, 2021. Mr. Simpson was born in Anderson County, South Carolina and was the son of the late Echols Jack Simpson and Lila Mae Huckabee. He was a loving husband to Ann Richard Simpson.
Survivors include his wife Ann Richard Simpson and daughter Cheryl Carver (Steve) from Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Surviving are three grandchildren Whitney Meyer (Sean) from Dardenne Prairie, Missouri, Cameron Carver (Margaret) from Blue Springs, Missouri and Carter Newton from Pickens, South Carolina. Mr. Simpson has six loving and most precious great grandchildren: Grant, Eric, Duncan, Haddie, Marisa and Russell. Survived by one brother Boyd Arnold from Abbeville, South Carolina.
Mr. Simpson was predeceased by a former wife Jo Simpson.
Mr. Simpson served in the United States Air Force and served during the Korean War. He started out his career as a pipe welder before retiring from Duke Power in Maintenance. He enjoyed his crossword puzzles and his travels. He was known to be the occasional camper.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at 12 Noon at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel, located 2402 Gentry Memorial Highway, Pickens, South Carolina.
