James “Jim” Benoit, 64, of Easley, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at St. Francis Hospital – Downtown. Born on March 1, 1953 in Easley, he was the only child of the late Roland and Louise Davis Benoit. Jim was a member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church and was retired after 40 years with Michelin Tires. He was an avid Clemson Tiger sports fan, and loved Walt Disney World. Mickey Mouse was his favorite character and Jim was a collector of anything Disney. Surviving are his wife, Sandra Benoit; three daughters, Joy Cring (Brandon), Stephanie Martin (Donnie), and April Dillard (Nathan); seven grandchildren, Jillian and Hunter Cring, Emma Martin, Olivia, Haley, Ella, and Colt Dillard, many loving friends and his two furry companions, Buddy and Scooby. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 3, 2017, from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Dillard Funeral Home, with funeral services to follow at 3:30 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens. The family welcomes all who attends the service to wear Clemson Tiger attire, in honor of Jim’s favorite team. The family will be at their respective homes.
