James was born in Elkins, WV to the late James Ersel Wiseman Sr. and Cora Alice Shipley Wiseman. He served honorably during the Korean War stationed in Germany rebuilding the country after WW2 from 1952 to 1954. He was a faithful member of Crosswell First Baptist Church in Greenville, SC and worked most of his life in lumber and building materials, first with Wickes Lumber Corporation and then later the Home Depot Corporation.
Mr. Wiseman is survived by his loving wife of 69 years: Nina Lucille Rider Wiseman of the home; her children: James Allen Wiseman (Tracy), Deborah Ann Wiseman Caldwell (Walter), Diana Lynn Wiseman Mahaffey (Bobby), and Brett Daniel Wiseman (Missy); ten grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Wiseman was preceded in death by a sister: Joyce Ann Wiseman Phillips (Ersel); and a granddaughter: Avery JoJo Wiseman.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at Crosswell First Baptist Church with the Rev. Rex Simmons and Rev. Shawn O'Shields officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park with the Rev. Jim Wiseman officiating.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM on Tuesday, prior to the services, at Crosswell First Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Wiseman, Walter Caldwell, Jack Smith, Jr., Gavin Smith, Logan Smith, Trey Mahaffey, and Jimmy Bagwell. Mr. Ken Caldwell will serve as an Honorary Pallbearer.
The family is at the residence in Powdersville, SC.
