“Fast Cars and Freedom”
JB Clark, Jr. was a man who loved fast cars and freedom. He’d give you the shirt off his back and drop anything he was doing to come help you. If you were a dollar short, he would give you one without hesitation.
A lifelong mechanic, JB spent most of his years as one of the best in Greenville. If something was wrong with your car, he could fix it. Later in life, he had the incredible opportunity to work with Greased Lightning, traveling across the country showing race cars and doing what he loved. JB was also a proud Mason and Shriner.
JB shared 53 years of marriage with his wife, Beverly. Together they built a beautiful family, raising three children, Bryan, Karen, and Kayla, who will forever remember their dad as the man who could fix anything and was always just a phone call away.
His greatest blessings in life were his five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
No matter what name he went by, Papa, Old Papa, Dad, Friend, or Jr., everyone who knew JB knew he had the biggest heart hidden behind all that steel and grit. To his family, he will always be "ten feet tall and bulletproof", and our protector. That’s how we’ll remember him because that’s exactly who he was. He showed up, he provided, and he made sure we never had to worry about a thing.
JB enjoyed many things in life that brought him joy. Whether it was a Rod Run, a car show, a school event, or simply spending time with his grandchildren, he was happiest when surrounded by those he loved most.
JB went home to the Lord, joining his beautiful mother, Betty Clark; his father, JB Clark, Sr.; and his brothers, Jimmy, Johnny, Jerry Clark.
Above all, he was one of a kind, and there will never be another like JB.
His memory is carried on by his wife, Beverly Clark; his son, Bryan Clark (Kate); and his daughters, Karen Maw and Kayla Waldrep (Brandon); as well as his grandchildren, Olivia Clark, Samuel Maw, Jordyn Maw, Jack Bissonnette, and Charlie Bissonnette; and his great-grandchildren, Finleigh and Ava Stevens. He is also survived by his brothers, Jackie Clark and Joe Clark (Marina).
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
The family will be at the home.
Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, at Jones Hill Church of God, with a Graveside Service to follow at the Jones Hill Church of God Cemetery, 1014 Dalton Rd, Marietta, SC 29661.
