

Born on April 2, 1940, she was the daughter of the late William Roy Green and Rebecca Brown Green. She loved the Lord and attended church any time she was able. Jennie had a heart devoted to serving others. With more than 30 years of service in the healthcare profession, she retired having touched countless lives through her care, kindness, and compassion. In her spare time, Jennie enjoyed camping, going to the lake and spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed the moments with her grandchildren.
Jennie is survived by her beloved husband, Joe Walter Clayton; daughter, Kay Bagwell; son, David Clayton (Donna); son, Danny Clayton (Michelle); son, Kevin Clayton (Shannon); Grandchildren: Corey Brezeale (Tasha); Dana Vissage (Jeff), Chris Bagwell (Rachel), Dave Bagwell, Tonya Feno (Randall), Joseph Clayton, Jacob Clayton, Sean Clayton, Aaron Clayton, Holly Clayton, Casey Clayton, Elizabeth Whiten (Caleb), Taylor Combs, Jordan Combs; 21 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren; four siblings: Ethel Rochester, Starlena Owens, Robin Holcombe, and Donnie Ray Green.
Jennie was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Tammy Brezeale; granddaughter, Danielle Clayton; grandson, baby boy Brezeale; son-in-law, Dennis Bagwell; sister, Veronica Bagwell; sister Katherine Davidson; brother Charlie Green; five brother-in-laws: Alvin Bagwell, Jerry Rochester, Cohen Davidson, Otis Owens, and Gary Holcombe; and sister-in-law, Elaine Green.
A visitation for Jennie will be held Saturday, May 31, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at Dillard Memorial Funeral Home, 2402 Gentry Memorial Highway, Pickens, South Carolina, with a funeral service to begin at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. A committal service will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jennie's memory may be made to Alzheimer's Association.
