

Easley – Jerry Phillip Burgess, 63, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday, November 3, 2016 after a long battle with colon cancer and heart disease. Jerry leaves his wife and partner of 26 years, Pamela Shaw Burgess; his 2 sons, Jason Phillip Burgess and his companion Sherry Hayes; Justin Paul Burgess and his wife Diana Burgess; his daughter, Elisa Willis and her husband Eric Willis; his grandchildren, Jazmin, Josh, Amber, Issac, Hayden, and John. Also surviving are his 3 brothers, Joey Griffin Burgess, Jimmie Keith Burgess, Jeffrey Dale Burgess, and his sister, Rhonda Jean Wilson and many other beloved family members and dear friends. After graduating Easley High School in 1971, Jerry began his 42 year career at Duke Energy where he was a nuclear maintenance technician. Jerry had a great passion for collecting guns and knives. He enjoyed tinkering in his shop, repairing and restoring old cars and spending time bass fishing with his loving wife, Pam. A celebration of his life will be held 2 PM Monday, November 7, 2016 in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Pickens. The family will greet friends from 12 to 1:30 PM prior to the service on Monday. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.
