Joe was born in Minonk, Illinois on August 30, 1952 to the late Joseph Edward Zupansic, Sr. and Marguerite Adelia Krones Zupansic. He was the former owner and operator of Carolina Finishers, and was an avid fisherman and hunter. Never wanting to fully retire, Joe began driving the school bus in both Anderson and Greenville Counties for special needs children. He also owned his own Kettle Corn Business which he affectionately named "Poppin Joe's". Joe loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He served in the Gideon's International for over 10 years and was a member of Welcome Baptist Church in Greenville where he was very active including going on several mission trips and working with the children's ministry.
In addition to his loving wife, Joe is survived by his two children: Stacy Painter (Roger) of Piedmont and Corey Zupansic (Maureen) of Piedmont; his six grandchildren: Hayden, Jacob, Gracie, Chase, Camden, and Rowan; and his seven siblings: Victoria Buchler (Michael) of Belleair, Florida, Patricia Siegle (Virgil) of Inverness, Florida, Daniel Zupansic (Dianne) of Seminole, Florida, Rev. Mary Zupansic of Springfield, Illinois, Thomas Zupansic of Port Richey, Florida, Susan Laramee (David) of Largo, Florida, and James Zupansic of Woodside, New York.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:30 PM on Friday, June 11, 2021 at Welcome Baptist Church, 2730 Anderson Road, Greenville, SC 29611. Interment will follow at Greenville Memorial Gardens in Piedmont.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at Dillard Funeral Home.
