Kenneth "Bo" Gillespie, 60, of Liberty, went to heaven on Thursday, April 29, 2021, at Anmed Hospital.

Bo was born on March 18, 1961, son of the late Jimmy Lee Gillespie and Shelby Jean Ellenburg Bair. He was employed with CSI, Inc. in Taylors, SC and he was of the Christian faith. Bo was adventurous and many people called him "gentle giant" because of his huge heart. Bo loved to joke around and was a SC Gamecock fan. He had a trademark laugh, that made everyone smile and remember him by. The most important joy and what he lived for was his grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Lisa Gillespie; two daughters, Kristy Seay (James) and Heidi May (Christopher); one son, Darryl Gillespie (Kelly); one sister, Jeana Houser; two brothers, Robert Gillespie (Georgia) and Bryan Gillespie (Brenda); four grandchildren, Kale, Aiken, Raelyn, and Carter. He also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 3, 2021, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Dillard Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at 10 a.m. in the Dillard Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Robert Fowler officiating. A committal service will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

The family will be at the home of the daughter, Kristy Seay.

I'll never forget the time that I was helping Daddy clean the yard he had set a small fire to some brush and It got a little out of control granted we only had a quarter of an acre of land it was a small out of control fire the wind had caught it Needless to say he told me to call 911 me being the blonde that I am I panicked immediately went for the phone book searching frantically for the number to 911 I'll never forget hearing him laugh when he told that story numerous times Of course I knew my daddy was laughing with me and not at me you'll forever be missed Daddy!

The halls of Combustion Services will not be the same without Bo! I could always hear him singing or laughing as he told a joke to another co worker down the hallway, if it wasn't a joke it was a riddle to figure out. If I ever needed anything all I had to do is tell Bo and give or take a few days it would appear. Bo loved his family and spoke about them or showed us pictures as often as he could, especially his grandchildren. Bo you are already missed beyond words. Rest in peace my friend! Kristine

Daddy, words cannot describe the pain right now I have but also the joy of happiness knowing you are walking the streets of Gold with Jesus. You were my angel on earth and now watching over me. I know how proud you were of all of us and I will make sure to carry on your legacy and laughter. Go rest high! Until I see you again I love you 💕

Bo was such a nice guy and he loves his family. He was a big cut up and always up to something he will be missed calling raelyn’s name out at the pageants and she would wave.
