Laura E. Porter Pickens, SC Laura Elizabeth Porter, 30, of Allgood Farm Road, passed away Monday, January 5, 2015. Born on September 10, 1984 she is the daughter of Jim and Martha Holcombe Porter of Pickens. Laura was a student at Southern Wesleyan University and attended Secona Baptist Church in Pickens. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her sister, Leanne P. Barron (Andrew) of Pickens; her special niece, Marlee Elizabeth Barron; her loyal dog, Jasper; and her grandmother, Mary Jane Holcombe of Pickens. Laura was predeceased by her grandparents, Lewis and Jessie Mae Porter and J.B. Holcombe. A service to celebrate Laura’s life will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home with entombment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 PM until 1:30 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Secona Baptist Church, 234 Secona Rd.
