Levon was born and raised in Pickens, SC. He was the son of the late L.D. and Minnie McCall and a 1952 Graduate of Pickens High School. He served our country in the US Army for two years and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan during his tour of duty. Levon was formerly a member of East Pickens Baptist Church in Pickens, where he served as Chairman Deacon. A current member of First North Baptist Church of Spartanburg, SC, Levon actively served in the Joy Sunday School Class. He was retired after 35 years with the US Postal Service in Pickens, SC. An accomplished and published song writer and musician, his love of music was contagious to all who knew him.
Levon leaves behind to cherish his memories, his loving wife of 64 years, Louise Phillips McCall, Inman, SC; two children, Wanda McCall, Boiling Springs, SC and Dennis McCall (Shelly), Spartanburg, SC. Five grandchildren, Chandler McCall (Courtney), Simpsonville, SC, Brandon McCall (Waverly), Youngstown, NC, Ali McCall, Leah McCall and Madison McCall, Spartanburg, SC, and one great-grandchild, Fletcher McCall, Youngstown, NC. Three siblings, Doris Dillard, Easley, SC, Cecil McCall (Jean), Atlanta, GA; Jean Masters (Pete), Pickens, SC. Levon was also preceded in death by three siblings, Leon McCall, Travelers Rest, SC, Christine Aiken, Pickens, SC, and Bernice Masters, Pickens, SC.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 7, 2021, from 1:30 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Dillard Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. in the Dillard Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Mike Hamlett and Reverend Don Chastain officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
