Lowell Thomas McDaniel

Rev. McDaniel was born on June 30, 1932, in Dillon, South Carolina, to the late Walter David and Bessie McInnis McDaniel. He retired from Durham Life Insurance Company and was a preacher at several churches in North and South Carolina. He was a faithful member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. Rev. McDaniel proudly served in the United States Navy from 1950 to 1958 and retired as rank E-6. He was a member of several lodges and clubs, American Legion Post 52, the VFW Post 9509 in Moncks Corner, South Carolina, Order of the Eastern Star Easley Chapter 200, Summerville Lodge 234, Bates Lodge 189 A.F.M. Life Member of Easley, Past Grand Patron Grand Chapter of South Carolina O.E.S., Scottish Rite of Freemasonry S.J. at Greenville South Carolina, John Sevier Chapter 548 National Sojourners Inc.

Rev. McDaniel is survived by his loving wife Connie Sentell McDaniel and a brother Harold H. McDaniel.

In addition to his parents, Rev. McDaniel was preceded in death by his first wife Barbara Sessions McDaniel; his brother David Watson McDaniel.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday August 10, 2026. in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home, with Military and Masonic Honors.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 1:50 in the Garden Room.

A private burial will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, Rev. McDaniel requested donations be made to Rock Spring Baptist Church, 201 Rock Springs Rd, Easley, S.C. 29642.
