

Helen was born September 6, 1938, in Easley, SC, daughter of the late Charlie Black and Ruth Stewart Black. She was a member of Pickens View Wesleyan Church. Helen knitted prayer shawls for years, touching lives all over the country. She was a homemaker and loved and cherished her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband of 66 years, Roger Marvin Day; one daughter, Kimberly Charlene Hendricks (Chad) of Boone, NC; two sons, Steven Alan Day of Easley, and Jeffrey Scott Day (Denise) of Easley; one brother, Joel Black (Gladys), ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents, Helen is predeceased by her son James Roger Day, Daughter, Susan Diane Blair, and six brothers, Donald Black, Leon Black, Tommy Black, Olar Black, Fulton Black, and Morris Black; and two sisters, Rosa Lee Miller Smith and Maebelle Rogers.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 17, 2022, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Dillard Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:15 p.m. in the Dillard Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Paul Service and Reverend Lewis Edwards officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Pickens, SC.
