She was born on January 3, 1939 in Pickens, SC to William Lloyd and Ocie Bell Revis Gilstrap.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, brother, William James Gilstrap, and daughter in law Norma Davis Nix.
She is survived by her husband Frank Horace Nix; her daughter Rhonda Nix Hunter (Jim); her son Alan Gregory Nix; her daughter Susan Nix Pickens (Dale) and grandchildren Matthew Hunter, Ethan Nix (Victoria), Sarah Hunter, Kristopher Pickens, and Lauren Nix.
A visitation for Mary will be held Friday, January 12, 2024 from 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm at Dillard Memorial Funeral Home, 2402 Gentry Memorial Highway, Pickens, South Carolina. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm. Mary will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Glenwood Baptist Church building fund, Lupus Foundation of America, SC Chapter, American Heart Association, Pickens County Meals on Wheels or charity of choice.
