Mrs. Marchbanks was born in Pickens County on October 3, 1955 to the late Sylvester Lowe and Beulah Nancy McCall Carlisle. She had a genuine care and concern for everyone that she came into contact with, and would always ask how you were before any other question. Every conversation started and ended with a hug, where you would leave smelling like her favorite perfume, Red Door. A generous soul, she would be willing to give you the shirt off her back if it meant your happiness, and she truly expressed God's love for everyone. Most importantly, Mrs. Marchbanks was grounded in her faith, and loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She loved cooking, planting flowers, and was a devoted wife, mama, nana, sister, and friend. In her free time on the weekends, you could always find her shopping with her sidekick, Liz, where they would spend hours at Kohls looking for the best deal.
In addition to her loving husband of 48 years, Mrs. Marchbanks is survived by her two daughters: Deedee Bannister (Chris) and Suzanne Rowland (Eddie), both of Pickens; her four grandchildren: Makenzie Rowland, Makayla Rowland, Jacob Nagle, and Brandon Rowland; a "bonus" grandchild: Chase Crenshaw; five siblings: Liz Spearman Whitman, Lucille Mewborne, Charles Carlisle, Jerry Carlisle, and Tommy Carlisle; and her devoted companion dog: Cooper. Mrs. Marchbanks is also survived by numerous friends and extended family.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Marchbanks was preceded in death by a daughter: Crystal Marchbanks Castorela; a sister: Mildred Lesley; a brother: James Carlisle; and two grandchildren: Derek Bannister and Hayleigh Rowland.
