So sorry Cindy, Greg, and Chris. Some of my favorite times was being welcomed into the Broom home when I'd come over...always made to feel like family. And was always supported as I saw Opel and Hase in the stands or sitting on the hill at our baseball and then softball games. I am grateful for her spirit and presence that blessed so many and our world. Peace to you all and you are in my prayers.

Opal was such a great person kind, caring and beautiful. Our school class from Cullowhee High School , Cullowhee. NC will miss her greatly as we have Hase since he passed. What a nice family they leave behind to keep up their good deeds. To Chris: Georgia State Representative and Georgia Bulldog player asked me to let you know he is thinking of you and your family and shares your sorrow. Our loss is heaven's gain. Your friend always, Linda Hughes Collins

Opal has been such a wonderful friend to me for many years. I have always had so much respect for her and her entire family. W hen I was visiting her a few weeks ago, she said she had never really done anything big. I told her, you and Hase have raised three amazing children. You have helped raise many kids that you kept while we worked. She was so important to so many people. I am so thankful that Opal and her family came my way. Loving and praying for the family.
